This comes closer to my view.
Commentary and analysis is only valuable if the sources are easily found for verification and evaluation. Good writers don’t fear this. If it takes several clicks to find the original press release, news item or commentary, or if it is nearly impossible to get off the site to read the sources then something else worthy is happening.
Interesting that there is now a movement to try and bring the same quality of acknowledgement of sources that are expected in academic writing to more casual writing on the internet.
